This is an excellent site contained within the walled garden of a manor house. The grounds are well kept clean and tidy and the pitched generous and flat. Hookup is available for those who need. As we all know it can be a little breezy in Norfolk so being inside the walled garden ensures you are sheltered from the most of it. There is a nice walk in the woods next to the site and a very amenable owner who if you are very lucky will let you purchase a dozen of the best eggs i have ever tasted...
This place is simply stunning, beautiful. Seriously well maintained. It's like four areas in one, caravans, tents, etc, dog friendly, has a great honesty shed, cans of drinks, ice cream, a fridge and freezer to use.
Owners are very friendly, they leave you to it, plenty of bins, nice washing up area, free showers, and all contained in a high walled garden, lovely plants and bushes everywhere, they look great.
Small family run site in a well kept walled garden surrounded by trees. 30 pitches in 4 areas separated by trees and shrubs, all with electric hook ups. Gate in wall leads to walks around the woods outside for dog walking. Reception has fridge with cold drinks and free range eggs and freezer with ice creams for which there is an honesty box, you can use the phone for a donation too. Plenty of tourist info leaflets and list of pubs serving food/take-aways.
Spar shop 5 mins drive away in Docking. Office is not always attended, but sign tells guests to pitch where they like (numbered pitches) - if you want 2 or 3 pitches together they may reserve pitches for you, just ask. Toilet blocks very clean, 2 free hot showers, 4 loos and 3 separate sinks in ladies (handwash provided). Washing up facilities and laundry room with iron and board. Site almost full when we stayed but not noisy as everyone respected site rules. Would definitely recommend - hope to return soon...
Centrally located for all sides of Norfolk, Wells, Sandringham and Cromer, and even Norwich within reasonable driving distance. The electric hookups & TV were there if needed. We camped in pitch 3 but did not think about which way the sun comes up.
Lovely in afternoon but shady in mornings which meant the tent took longer to dry when leaving! Would choose different pitch next time if possible for that reason.
However the pitches are all well spaced, plenty of room for car and tent. The shelter of the wall was good for windy days. Woodland walk was well used and grass was well kept, seemed to be cut after each person left...
